But when you go kitesurfing in March and also choose a good spot, then you will have no such problem at all! In fact, March is a part of the main kitesurfing season in pretty much all the famous spots around the world!
The average wind speed needed for kiteboarding is usually around 12 knots… And surprisingly, the month of March offers wind speeds higher than 12 knots!
Spring Season
The season of spring brings with it warmer temperatures and blooming flowers… With so many changes, it only sounds natural that you should bring a change to your daily routine with a kitesurfing vacation!
In the USA, UK, and European countries, the temperatures are still relatively low during March… On the other hand, most of the kitesurfing spots such as Sri Lanka, Cape Verde, and the Caribbean already offer good temperatures during the spring season!
In fact, a lot of people book their family vacations during the spring season (March) too! So by booking a kitesurfing vacation in March, you also stand a chance to meet exciting people from all over the world!
However, the one thing you need to keep in mind is that March is relatively busier than January or February in terms of flights since a lot of people book their vacations. So to actually enjoy kitesurfing in March, it is a good idea to book your flights, accommodations, and other arrangements in advance!

Best Kitesurfing Destinations to Visit in March
Life can be hard and when it comes to decisions such as choosing a kitesurfing destination, it can get even harder! To make it easy for you, we have listed the best kitesurfing destinations March:
1. San Blas (Panama)
If you are wondering where to kitesurfing in March, then the first spot on our list is San Blas from Panama! The San Blas is basically a combination of around 367 Islands in Panama (near to Caribbean side). Basically, all of these Islands are deserted and only 10% of them are inhabited by the local tribes.
Now you may be asking what makes San Blas a good choice in March. For starters, it offers crystal clear blue water, sandy beaches, and plenty of consistent winds… Basically, all the things you would need for kitesurfing in the month of March! But the best part is that after you are done with your kitesurfing session, you can rest under the palm trees and even get to interact with the locals and their unique culture.
From December to April, you can get consistent winds in Panama which is also known as the dry season. This means that the chances of rain are rare so you will not have to wait for the sky to clear up before going to the sea with your kite.
As for the kite sizes used in Sal Blas during March, the average kite size used is around 9m to 12m. But depending on the situation and your preference, you could also use a 14m or a 7m kite as well. And did I mention that the temperature is always higher than 20 degrees centigrade in this spot? Overall, it is a great option to go kitesurfing in March!
2. El Yaque (Venezuela)
If you are looking to go kitesurfing on a budget, then one of the best and cheapest countries you can visit is Venezuela. The country is facing a rare case of hyperinflation which has seriously devalued the currency of Venezuela. As a result, you will be able to kitesurf in this country even if you are on a tight budget!
In Venezuela, one of the famous spots is El Yaque located on Margarita Island… One of the highlights of El Yaque is its consistent winds throughout the year. So it doesn’t matter if you go there in March or any other month, a consistent wind will be guaranteed!
However, the best season for kitesurfing is considered to be between Februarys till June – So if you go to El Yaque in March, you will be presented with great kitesurfing conditions!
As for the temperature, it tends to stay around 24 C to 30 C which is ideal for chilling on the beaches and even for trying water sports!
Furthermore, there are also some rainy days in El Yaque but when compared with other islands in the Caribbean, the frequency of rainy days is far less!
3. Roatan (Honduras)
Roatan is a relatively unfound gem located on the Island of Honduras… Since this place is located on the far western side of the Caribbean, it is still relatively overlooked. But do not let the absence of popularity scare you away from the Roatan in Honduras!
Fewer people mean that the authentic charm and beauty of this place are still unspoiled and waiting for you to discover it. This place offers crystal clear warm waters, white beaches, and beautiful green hills – So while you are taking a break from kitesurfing, you can enjoy the raw beauty of Roatan!
Did I mention that the Roatan also has the 2nd largest reef system in the world? So besides kitesurfing, you can also enjoy this wonder too!
During March, the wind speed in Roatan is expected to be around 12 knots to 23 knots (around 67% chance).
4. Saipan (Northern Mariana Islands)
In the Northern Mariana Islands, the Saipan is considered to be the 2nd largest island… And since it is the 2nd largest Island, it automatically means a lot of beaches and a lot of kitesurfing spots!
During March, you can enjoy tropical temperatures and the wind speed also remains good and consistent from November to April. So if you book your next kitesurfing vacation for Saipan in March, you will get plenty of chances to kitesurf on large flat water lagoons of this island!
The average wind speed in the Saipan is expected to be between 12 knots to 35 knots (around 75% chance) during March.
