1. Wissant (France)

Not sure which kitesurfing spot is good in August? Then visit Wissant, located in France, known for its strong winds and ocean waves all over France. And since this spot is located in France, it will be easier to travel there for the European surfers!
In Europe, this place is also regarded as the best wave spot since it combines the mainland winds and the Atlantic winds. However, the near-perfect kiting conditions and popularity of Wissant mean that the place will attract a lot of kitesurfers from Belgium, Germany, and France during August! So to avoid the crowd and to make sure that your spot is booked, plan ahead of time!
Another important thing to remember is that in Wissant, everyone gets their designated swimming zone. So when you are out in the water, no trespassing into other people’s portion of the water is allowed. Furthermore, they also do not allow any environmental damage, so you make sure not to throw any garbage out there!

2. Cabarete (Dominican Republic)

The 2nd spot on our list is Cabarete from the Dominican Republic, which also offers good kitesurfing conditions during August. In Cabarete, there are actually numerous kite spots to choose from depending on your preferred difficulty level and wind speed.
The peak season to visit Cabarete is from April to September – So if you go there in August, you will still have enough time to catch the good wind and waves. On average, this spot remains windy for 250 days of the year.
Furthermore, the Cabarete is also visited by people from walks of life, even those who want to practice kitesurfing. So if this defines you, then you can visit this spot in August too!

3. Atins (Brazil)

The 3rd spot on the list is Atins, located in Brazil, which offers great beaches, good winds, and flat water during August. This place is so good that even Craig Cunningham ranked it at #4 among his list of flatwater spots!
The shores of Atins are known for their consistent strong winds throughout the summer season, especially the month of August. And to top it all off, this place is also close to the Lençóis Maranhenses, which has a unique and breathtaking landscape. In this spot, you can experience underground water supplies and great white dunes together – I think this is something that should be experienced firsthand rather than described in the text!
So while taking a rest from kitesurfing, you will also have a lot to experience and a lot to do here!

4. Lombok (Indonesia)

Since August offers superb winds, you get to choose from a lot of different kitesurfing spots. The #4th spot on our list is Lombok from Indonesia (an Island), where you can relax on the beaches and go kitesurfing in the waters. That is the reason why Lombok is among our best places to kitesurfing in August.
The lagoon present in Lombok is protected by coral reefs, and you can expect consistent wind throughout the day during August. But I think that the best part about this spot is that it is not so famous right now – So if you are someone who needs a little break from the crowd, then you can visit Lombok, which is still relatively undiscovered by the masses!
Another great thing about Lombok is that it is a highly sustainable place in terms of accommodations… You can find tons of resorts close to the beaches, which will be both affordable and spectacular.

5. Naxos (Greece)

The #5 spot on our list is Naxos from Greece, which is yet another famous kitesurfing spot in Europe. If you are planning a kitesurfing vacation for August, then this can be a great spot to consider too!
In Naxos, winds from a lot of different places come here, such as the Mediterranean winds, northern winds, and so on. This automatically means that by visiting Naxos, you can remove the worry of wind speed altogether, as there will be plenty of consistent wind.
During August, the water is still cozy, and you can enjoy the warmth of summer before the winter season starts. And since we are talking about a Greek Island, you can rest assured of great local culture and great food too!
