Kalpitiya, the best spot for kitesurfing in Sri Lanka

Without a doubt, Kalpitiya Lagoon in Sri Lanka is one of the best places for beginners and freestyle enthusiasts kiters. The lagoon is particularly known for its flat and shallow water. The lagoon is separated from the ocean by a small strip of beach and dunes, which gives rise to incredible landscapes. The wind in Kalpitiya blows regularly both day and night between May and September with an average of 20 knots, peaking at 30 knots. From December to March, there are also excellent wind conditions, with wind ranging from 16 to 25 knots.
